The rotary encoder is the most common used sensor to convert the mechanical shaft position to pulse or digital signal. The rotary encoder includes a encoder disc and photo electricity detecting device. The disc is a round disc with equally distributed number of square holes on it. The disc rotate with the shaft of motor.The detecting device output many pulse signals.
The rotary encoder connected with PLC, frequency converter, and motor offer the speed and distance feedback of elevator in a closed system.

For incremental encoder for elevator,when power is off, elevator needs its inside recorder to remember its position. Absolute encoder has sole position even if the power is off, so it is more safe to use absolute encoder in lift application.

Roundss provide large hollow shaft encoders for elevator. For example,REC100B,REC80B,DEC100B,DEC80B. The required resolution is always 1024ppr.
